COVID-19 Vaccines Available At Alabama Winn-Dixie Stores

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Winn-Dixie supermarket pharmacies will now offer COVID-19 vaccines in several Alabama locations. The grocery store chain joins Walmart, Sam's Club, CVS and Walgreens as retailers offering the vaccine in Alabama.

The pharmacies will offer the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Winn-Dixie stores offering the vaccine include:

• Auburn: 1617 S. College St.
• Birmingham: 4476 Montevallo Road
• Clanton: 640 Ollie Ave.
• Milbrook: 3625 Hwy 14
• Montgomery: 4724 Mobile Hwy
• Montgomery: 7946 Vaughn Road
• Pinson: 4701 Center Point Road
• Tuscaloosa: 4205 University Blvd. East
• Tuscaloosa: 9750 Hwy 69 South
• Wetumpka: 5326 Highway 231 South

Eligible recipients of the vaccine in Alabama include:

Adults 55 and older

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Individuals 16 to 64 with high-risk medical conditions which include but are not limited to the following conditions:

• Cancer
• Chronic kidney disease
• COPD
• Heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies; immunocompromised state
• Solid organ transplant
• Obesity, BMI greater than 30
• Pregnancy
• Sickle cell disease
• Smoking
• Type 1 and 2 diabetes
• Other medical conditions as determined by your medical provider

Essential workers in the following areas:

• Transportation and logistics
• Waste and wastewater
• Food service (includes restaurant staff)
• Shelter and housing (construction)
• Finance (bank tellers)
• Information technology and communication
• Energy
• Legal
• Media
• Public safety (engineers)
