Simsbury Election Overview 2019 - Selectmen, Board of Education

A brief look at the candidates for first selectman, Board of Selectmen and Board of Education seats in Simsbury, plus a sample ballot.

SIMSBURY, CT — Municipal elections around the country are just under three weeks away, and the ballot in Simsbury contains a full slate of candidates for first selectman, Board of Selectmen and Board of Education.

Incumbent First Selectman Eric Wellman, a Democrat, is being challenged by Republican Board of Selectmen member Cheryl Cook, as well as petitioning candidate Robert Kalechman. Incumbent Board of Selectmen members Chris Peterson, a Democrat, and Republicans Sean Askham and Mike Paine seek to retain their seats, with challengers including Democrats Wendy Mackstutis and Philip Purciello and Republican Jackie Battos.

Candidates for full term spots on the Board of Education are all incumbents: Republicans Jennifer Batchelar and Susan Salina, and Democrats Todd Burrick and Jeffrey Tindall.
