Celebrity

Some people are unhappy after learning that the Jenner girl is chosen to model Mango's upcoming collection 'Tribal Spirit' which is inspired by African savanna.

AceShowbiz - Kendall Jenner looked stunning as usual in a sneek-peak of a campaign ad for Mango's "Tribal Spirit" collection. Excited about being the new face of Mango, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star shared with her followers on Instagram a behind-the-scenes video of the new campaign.

The 20-year-old model donned clothing items inspired by African savanna. Kendall sported messy braided hair as she danced and struck poses in front of the camera. A caption for the video read, "Warming up for #TribalSpirit in the new @Mango Campaign #MangoGirls."

However, some people were unhappy after learning that Kendall was chosen as the model for African-inspired collection. They thought it's a form of cultural appropriation. Twitter user @diorhardin wrote, "Lol at Mango's new collection being called Tribal spirit. Lol at Kendall Jenner being the face of that collection." Another user @lvndxv added, "Seriously @Mango? You should know better. Leave cultural appropriation in 2015."

Mango's Vice President Daniel Lopez explained why the fashion line chose Kendall to model the upcoming collection. "We thought that she was the best model to embody this trend," he said. "And obviously the upside with that is that, as a model, she's very professional, she works fantastically. As a celebrity she has huge repercussions in the market and among her followers."
