More than 118,000 votes were cast for the football players of the week in Huntsville, Birmingham and Coastal regions of the state.

Tyler Patten of Hazel Green was voted the Hollis Wright Huntsville region player while Collier Blair of Chelsea was selected the Hollis Wright Birmingham region player and Deontae Lawson of Mobile Christian was the Coastal region choice.

Patten kicked a 39-yard field goal as time expired to give the Hazel Green a 37-34 win over Lawrence County.

He received 1,713 of 7,544 votes.

Chelsea’s 5-foot-6, 175-pound Blair carried the ball 38 times for 173 yards and two TDs against Helena, including nine runs for 55 yards and a 6-yard reception on the game-winning drive.

He had 10,166 of 14,500 votes cast.

Alabama commit Lawson rushed seven times for 75 yards, including a 51-yarder on a fake punt from the Mobile Christian 4. He also made 24 tackles on defense and scored the Leopards’ touchdown and game-winning 2-point conversion in OT of a 25-24 win against UMS-Wright.

He collected 38,736 of 101,092 votes.
