PA Reports No Coronavirus Deaths Monday, 565 New Cases

HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania health officials on Monday reported 565 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 114,155. No new deaths were reported — a rare occurrence, even despite a lag in data that is typical on Mondays.

The state's death toll remains at 7,209, with 4,914 of deaths in patients of long-term care and nursing home facilities.

While Pennsylvania has experienced a slight uptick of cases in the past few weeks, deaths and hospitalizations remain low, the data shows.

There are currently 585 people in Pennsylvania hospitalized for coronavirus, with 103 on ventilators. Over the past two weeks, there has been a daily average of 679 people hospitalized due to coronavirus.

The average number of coronavirus patients on ventilators has decreased to 95 per day over the past two weeks. The two-week average for the number of coronavirus patients on ventilators in mid-June was 230 per day.

The average number of new cases is down slightly, state data shows.

Between July 21 and 27, there was an average of 932 new cases per day. That's down to an average of 841 per day between July 28 and Aug. 3.
