This article is more than 4 years old.

On this week’s U.K. singles chart, a number of high-profile American artists debut new songs they hope to make true smashes, though only one lands close enough to the top to be certified a proper hit upon arrival. In time, newly-dropped cuts from the likes of Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish and even Miley Cyrus may rise, or they may disappear quickly, never reaching their potential. Statistically, they probably won’t all become chart-toppers, and only time will tell which ones the U.K. public prefers.

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s U.K. singles chart.

No. 11 - Post Malone - “Hollywood’s Bleeding”

Post Malone’s new full-length of the same name easily lands at No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart, granting the man his second leader in the nation. At the same time, he captures a trio of positions close to the top of the songs ranking as well. “Hollywood’s Bleeding” is the only new entry of the three, and it begins its time on the list at No. 11, barely missing the highest tier. His previous releases “Circles” and “Goodbyes” with Young Thug rise to Nos. 5 and 10, respectively.

No. 20 - Stormzy - “Sounds of the Skeng”

Grime pioneer Stormzy is enjoying one of the best weeks of his career on the singles chart in his home country, thanks in part to his new single. The musician holds at No. 1 as a featured artist on Ed Sheeran’s “Take Me Back to London,” which has now ruled for several frames. Up next is his just-released tune “Sounds of the Skeng,” which lands at No. 20 upon its arrival. His third and only other currently charting cut (the Official Charts Company has a rule stipulating that every musician can only own three spots at one time), “Vossi Bop,” dips to No. 52. That’s not a particularly impressive position, but earlier this year, the song debuted at No. 1, becoming his first champion.

No. 38 - Camila Cabello - “Liar”

Pop superstar Camila Cabello officially started the second era of her solo career just a few days ago by releasing not one, but two new singles. “Liar” quickly becomes the more popular of the pair, as it debuts at No. 38, while “Shameless” starts at No. 50. The songs mark her thirteenth and fourteenth appearances inside the top 100, while “Liar” is now Cabello’s tenth top 40 hit in the U.K.

No. 40 - Miley Cyrus - “Slide Away”

Weeks after it was first released, Miley Cyrus’ new single “Slide Away,” which focuses on her recently-announced upcoming divorce, rises to an important new high point. The track is up to No. 40 this frame, becoming at least a minor hit for the singer. Cyrus has now scored 16 top 40-charting songs in the U.K., including her work released as Hannah Montana.

No. 77 - Billie Eilish - “All the Good Girls Go to Hell”

Billie Eilish’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is an undeniable success all around the world, and as she continues to push singles from the full-length, there’s no telling how much bigger the release might become. Newly-released album track “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” reaches the singles ranking for the first time this frame, becoming her eleventh appearance on the chart, which is an incredible sum for someone under the age of 18 to have accrued.
