Reward offered in Linden fatal shooting

LINDEN – A 22-year-old man died early Friday after being shot multiple times along the 400 block of Bower Street.  

The victim has been identified as Nadir Williams, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Linden Police Chief David Hart said in a release. A hometown for Williams was not provided.

Union County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the shooter.

Shortly after midnight, police responded to the 400 block of Bower Street where Williams, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was found, the release states.

Williams was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m.

The shooting is under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, assisted by members of the Linden Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
