Coronavirus Shelton: 3 More Die, 48 Total Cases

SHELTON, CT — The Shelton community is in mourning after three more residents died from the new coronavirus, according to the Naugatuck Valley Health District. Previously, one Shelton resident died and tested positive for coronavirus.

"We offer our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the families of 3 additional individuals who passed away after testing positive for COVID-19," district Director of Health Jessica Stelmaszek said.

Two of the dead were men in their 80s and the other was a woman in her 90s.

Shelton has 48 coronavirus cases as of Tuesday afternoon. There are 11 Seymour cases, 16 in Naugatuck, nine in Derby, four in Beacon Falls and 18 in Ansonia. A total of 105 Valley residents have tested positive for coronavirus and 122 have tested negative.

There was a surge of coronavirus-related deaths in Connecticut, with 33 since Monday. There have now been 69 deaths, 3,128 cases and 608 patients hospitalized.
