Liverpool Football Club announced that Brendan Rodgers will leave his post with immediate effect, the club said in an official release. Rodgers last match was against Merseyside rivals Everton where they drew 1-1. He had said after the match: “It is a very good point. It is a difficult place to come. We looked like we were getting better in our attack and defensively we were more cohesive." The draw had left Liverpool with only one win in their last nine games. Rodgers came close to winning the league in 2013-14 but Liverpool have failed to win a single trophy under Rodger's stewardship.
