Two were killed and one was seriously injured Friday morning in a Jasper County car crash after the car rolled off the road for unknown reasons.

A Chevrolet Impala went off the roadway around 7 a.m. Friday on Highway F48 and S 28th Avenue W, crash reports indicate.

The impala rolled over several times and ejected the driver, Dallis Harrison, 23, of Newton, and passenger Isaiah Eliander, 16, of Garwin, according to crash reports. Both died from the crash.

A 15-year-old passenger, Kylie Eliander, was not ejected and was seriously injured.

"We would like to thank members of Colfax Fire and EMS, Jasper County and state law enforcement for the care they provided," the Eliander family said in a statement.

"We also appreciate the concern and prayers from friends and members of the community. Our energies must now be focused on Kylie’s recovery, and we ask for privacy at this time."

Police do not know why the car left the roadway. Reports claimed none of the passengers were wearing seat belts, including Harrison.

The crash is still under investigation.
