INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities believe an Indianapolis man may have killed a woman in his southwest-side apartment before traveling to Maryland and killing another woman, then taking his own life.

Deputies with the Charles County, Maryland, Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hilton Garden Inn in Waldorf, Maryland, around 7:40 p.m. Friday after receiving a tip from IMPD that a man in one of the hotel rooms may have killed a woman and then committed suicide. The man also might have killed a woman earlier in the week at his own apartment in Indianapolis, the tip said, according to the sheriff’s office. Waldorf is an unincorporated community about 25 miles south of Washington, D.C.

After making entry into the hotel room, a sheriff’s office team found Shereese Desire Curbeam, 36, of Waldorf, and Daniel Clark, 47, of Indianapolis, both dead of gunshot wounds.

Indianapolis metropolitan police also on Friday night responded to an apartment in the 5000 block of Brandywine Drive, later determined to be Clark’s residence, where they found a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police determined Clark was a suspect in the woman’s death and were given information about the hotel that they passed on to the sheriff’s office, IMPD said.

The identity of the woman found in Clark’s apartment was not available on Saturday, nor was her manner of death. IMPD said the woman’s death may have be connected to a domestic dispute.

IMPD and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office are working together to establish a motive, the sheriff’s office said.
