Olivia Buckland hits back at cruel troll who mocks her hen dos, bridal shower and ‘sten’ party
OLIVIA Buckland has hit back at an "envious" troll who called her an "attention seeker" for posting about the build up to her wedding.
The reality star, 24, is marrying her fiancé Alex Bowen, 27, next month after the pair met on Love Island in 2016 and got engaged just months later, but not everyone is as happy about it as they are.
Quoting one Twitter users words, Olivia wrote: "‘two hen dos and a bridal shower, just get married already, attention seeker’ LOL. This is the most envious comment I’ve ever read.
"Talk to me when you’re over the moon happy and engaged and wanna enjoy every single part of it before your married. LIVING MY BEST EVER LIFE. 😍🙃."
"Oh p.s - were going Croatia next week and I’m gonna call that our sten do. So please boil your blood some more 😂😂😂."
Many of her followers sprang to her defence and agreed that it was important to make a big deal about the happy times in relationships.
It's not the first time in recent weeks that Olivia has been rubbed up the wrong way by social media trolls.
Last month Alex slammed "disgusting" bullies after Olivia was left crying in his arms because of hurtful comments.
He defended Olivia after "bullies" said she had "put weight on and looks fat".
Lashing out, he wrote: "Had liv crying in my arms this morning because of hurtful comments made by disgusting girls and elder women too f*****g disgrace saying she’s put weight on and looks fat.
"Well she’s f*****g unreal and no one should be made feel like that bullies".
He then added: "This needs to be recognised because this effects people in different ways. It’s vile".
Sharing Alex's message on her own Twitter page, Olivia praised her fiance for being her "strength".
She wrote:" "Thank god I have this man. When i feel weak he is my strength. I’m so lucky and he makes me realise the bigger picture.
"I hate letting things get to me like that, but when your (slightly silly) insecurities are pointed out point blank it’s very difficult."
In a thread of messages, the reality star explained how she woke up to find three or four nasty comments about her weight.
She said: "When will people realise the huge effect that nasty comments on social media have on others.
"So I’m laying in bed this morning feeling guilty that I’m not at the gym or working out, because I’m feeling a little insecure about the little fat pockets I have on my stomach, which I never used to have, getting older, losing my metabolism and ability to eat s**t & not suffer.
"And I come across 3/4 nasty comments about how ‘you look plump, you put on weight, are you pregnant?’
"So now I feel guilty to even go and enjoy my food, can’t stop looking at my stomach and feel sick with anxiety to get in a bikini today. Well done trolls.
"BUT, saying all that - I’m still going to go eat, I’m still going to get in my bikini. Because life is bigger than what I look like and Its making me angry I even care!
"Those comments will STILL be in my head.
"I try to be so strong and so body confident but I can only be so strong and I am still a young woman who has feelings.
"I cried this morning to Alex and that is unlike me."
She concluded: "I woke up feeling insecure & a bit down, which happens. I read the comments & they got to me like never before I broke.
"However, I got the same comments the other day, whilst I was in an amazing strong mind, and they didn’t faze me. We all have our moments, we need remember that."
Signing off she wrote: "SO, I wanted to share that with you guys because I like to remind myself & you guys that I am real and I am human and I have my days!
"Life is not perfect & my social media will never try convince you so. ANYWAY, off to have fun on holiday now. Lots of love xxx"
