NASHUA, NH — It's almost time to head back-to-school in Nashua. Here are some important dates that families with children in the Nashua School District need to know about for the 2019-2020 school year. The first day of school for Nashua students is Monday, Aug. 26, with kindergarten and preschool students reporting on Sept. 3.

School will be closed from Friday, Aug. 30, to Sept. 2, for the Labor Day weekend.

Schools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14, for Columbus Day.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, is an early release day.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, is Election Day/in-service while Monday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day. The Thanksgiving Recess will be held from Wednesday, Nov. 27, to Friday, Nov. 29.

Wednesday, Dec. 11, is an early release day.

School will be closed for two weeks, from Monday, Dec. 23, to Friday, Jan. 3, for the holiday recess.

Another early released day is booked for Jan. 15, 2020, while Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, Jan. 20.

While the date for New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation presidential primary hasn't been set yet, Feb. 11, has tentatively been set aside for the primary.

Monday, Feb. 17, is Presidents Day/in-service and Winter Break will be held from Monday, Feb. 24, to Friday, Feb. 28.

Another early release day is booked for Wednesday, March 18.

Spring recess is set for Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 1.

An elementary school early release day is set for Wednesday, May 13.

Memorial Day will be celebrated on Monday, May 25. On Wednesday, May 27, the middle school has an early release day.

The last day of school is tentatively scheduled for June 16, for kindergarten to Grade 11.
