HS Softball Wrap: Robbinsville improves to 3-0 with win over Allentown

ALLENTOWN – The perennial powerhouse Robbinsville softball team continued its fast start Thursday with a 9-1 win over Allentown to improve to 3-0 on the young season.

Shea Krebs was the winning pitcher with a three-hitter and seven strikeouts. Robbinsville didn’t score in the first four innings against Skyler LaFisca, but when it did the runs kept on coming. Becky Blitz struck the big blow with a grand slam in the fifth inning. In addition, Mackenzie Martin had four hits. No Allentown players had more than one hit, although Emily Zuppa did double.

Notre Dame 10, Hopewell Valley 0

LAWRENCE TWP. – Freshman fireballer Rylee Michalak struck out 10 in four innings of work as Notre Dame went to 2-0. The Irish spread the hitting around and at one point had seven freshmen in the lineup. Victoria Delate ended the game with a two-run single.

BAPTISTOWN – Claire Brouilliard got the win with a three-hitter and 15 strikeouts. Paige Brightwell threw a three-hitter and fanned nine in defeat.

Bensalem 3, Central Bucks East 2

BUCKINGHAM, Pa. – Dan Schram’s Owls showed what they are made off with a big win over a CB East team (8-2) that had only lost to Quakertown and North Penn. Maggie Formichelli pitched great for the win. Jess Klein drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh after Destiny Howard had belted her second double of the game. The Owls are now 4-5.

Pennsbury 19, Pennridge 0

PERKASIE, Pa. – After playing under the lights, Pennsbury made the long ride home in a happy mood after easily running its record to 7-0. Quinn McGonigle was the winning pitcher and Rowan Mulholland stayed hot with a three-run home run.

NEWTOWN, Pa. – Pitcher Kat Hastings went 2-for-3, and Sofia Shields and Noelle Wood doubled, but it wasn’t enough to save the Indians in league play.

The Neshaminy at North Penn game was postponed and moved to Friday afternoon.
