The threat of severe weather has prompted delays and cancellations for some school systems in Alabama.

Heavy rains and strong winds remains the biggest concerns heading into Thursday morning. Strong storms are set to roll through southeastern Alabama until about 10 a.m. Feb. 6.

Closings, delays for Thursday, Feb. 6:

Alabama State University - Delayed until 11 a.m.

Alabaster City Schools - Delayed until 10:30 a.m.

Andalusia City Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Attalla City - Delayed until 9:45 a.m.

Auburn City Schools - Closed

Auburn University- University classes and normal operations are suspended until 1:00 p.m.

Autauga Academy - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Autauga County Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Barbour County - Closed

Bessemer City Schools - Delayed 2 hours

Bibb County- Delayed until 9:45 a.m.

Blount County Schools - 3 hour delay

Bullock County Schools - Closed

Chilton County Schools - Delayed until 9:30 a.m.

Clay County - Closed

Coffee County Schools - Closed

Coosa County Schools - Delayed 2 hours

Covington County Schools - Delayed 2 hours

Crenshaw County Schools - Closed

Dale County Schools - Closed

Daleville City Schools - Closed

DeKalb County Schools - 2 hour delay

Demopolis City Schools - Opening at 10 a.m.

Dothan City Schools - Closed

Elba City Schools - Closed

Enterprise State Community College - Closed

Etowah County Schools- Delayed 2 hours

Eufaula City Schools - Closed

Evangel Christian Academy - Delayed 2 hours

Fort Payne City Schools - Closed

Ft. Rucker School - Closed

Geneva City - Closed

Geneva County – Closed

Hale County Schools – Two-hour delay Thursday. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal; students may not be dropped off before 9:15 a.m.

Henry County Schools - Closed

Homewood City Schools - Students should report to school at 10:30 a.m.

Hoover City Schools- Delayed by two hours. Applies to employees unless otherwise advised by supervisor.

Houston County Schools - Closed

Indian Springs School - Delayed 2 hours

Jackson County Schools - Closed

Jacksonville City Schools- Delayed 2 hours

Jefferson County Schools –Two-hour delay on Thursday, Feb. 6. Classes will begin at 10 a.m. All buses will run two hours later than normal; no breakfast will be served.

Lauderdale County Schools - Closed

Lee County – Closed

Limestone County Schools - Delayed 2 hours. The school system said to expect delays in bus routes as many are having to find alternate routes to avoid flooding.

Lowndes Academy - Delayed 2 hours

Lurleen B. Wallace Community College - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Macon County Schools - Closed

Midfield City Schools - Open 10 a.m.

Montgomery Public Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m. Bus pickup scheduled at 8:30 a.m.

Oneonta City Schools - Delayed until 9:30 a.m.

Opelika City Schools - Closed

Opp City Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Oxford City Schools- Delayed 2 hours

Ozark City – Closed

Pelham City Schools- Delayed 2 hours. Buses will pick up at scheduled stops two hours later than the normal, scheduled time. Breakfast will not be served.

Pell City – Schools delayed until 9:45 a.m.

Piedmont City Schools- Delayed 2 hours

Pike County Schools- School will begin at 10 a.m. Buses will arrive at pick up locations two hours later than usual.

Randolph County Schools -Schools delayed until 9:30 a.m.

Resurrection Catholic School - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Roanoke City – Handley Middle School, Handley High School, Knight Enloe Elementary School delayed until 10 a.m.

Selma City Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Shelby County Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

St. Clair County Schools - Closed.

Sumter County Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Talladega City Schools - Delayed until 9:30 a.m.

Tallapoosa County Schools – Delayed until 10 a.m.

Tarrant City Schools - 2 hour delay

Troy City Schools - Closed

Trussville City Schools - Delayed until 10 a.m.

Vestavia City Schools- Delayed 3 hours

Wallace Community College (Dothan and Eufaula) - Closed Thursday
