On July 10, 2018, at an Applebee’s in McDonough, Georgia, one of the women eating at the restaurant had her leg out, causing the waitress to accidentally bump into her.

“The waitress had brushed up against her leg,” McDonough police Maj. Kyle Helgerson said soon after the attack. “There was an initial conversation about that.”

After the brief encounter, Helgerson said that the waitress apologized to the woman and called the situation an accident. The group of women then complained about their food not being brought out, leading the waitress to go back to the kitchen to pick it up.

She came back a second time to serve them with food or drinks and brushed up against [the woman] again,” Helgerson said. “That infuriated the suspect.”

“All four of them got out of the table and began to assault the waitress,” Helgerson added.

The waitress was punched repeatedly by the women, with one of the four stabbing her with a steak knife in the forearm.

Diners in the vicinity broke up the fight, but the women managed to run out of the restaurant with the waitress’ tips and left their bill unpaid.

The women were charged with criminal trespass and battery. Keterah Boyd and Lakisha Boyd were additionally charged with aggravated assault.

Along with their sentences, Keterah Boyd, Lakisha Boyd and Lasondra Boyd were ordered to take an anger management class in addition to staying away from the Applebee’s and the waitress they assaulted. They were also sentenced to 100 hours of community service and have been asked to pay restitution to the waitress for her medical bills and for damage at the restaurant.
