NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating after a man was shot to death during an exchange of gunfire at a short-term rental property in the Edgehill community Tuesday morning.

Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. to reports of a shooting on 11th Avenue South near Archer Street.

Upon further investigation, Metro police said they determined at least 13 people from outside of Nashville attended a party at the unit Monday night. Detectives believe there was an effort by one or more people present to commit a drug robbery Tuesday morning, leading to multiple rounds being fired from multiple guns.

Several people drove off from the unit, while others ran amid the chaos, according to investigators. One car was stopped, resulting in several people being detained for questioning by homicide detectives at the Midtown Hills police precinct.

Police said one man who ran from the unit was found near Rochelle Center. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for a leg injury he sustained while trying to get away.

Two guns were recovered from the scene, detectives said.

Detectives said they are using footage from surveillance cameras in the area to assist in identifying the people who fired shots. They released photos Tuesday afternoon showing one of the alleged gunmen and a car, believed to be a Hyundai, that transported people from the scene.

Anyone with information on the fatal shooting is urged to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
