Larue County man arrested for murder after buried body found

HODGENVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Kentucky State Police have arrested a Larue County man for murder.

According to KSP, authorities received information about a body buried on a property near the Buffalo community.

On Friday, Sept. 24, a search warrant was obtained following an extensive investigation and executed at a residence around the 500 block of Corinth Road. Detectives found the remains of an unidentified person buried underneath a large pile of debris in the home’s backyard.

David Puyear, 59, of Buffalo was charged with murder. He was taken to the Larue County Jail. As the investigation continues, Puyear could face additional charges.

The remains were taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville to be identified and examined.

KSP Post 4 detectives are leading the investigation.
