ELBERTA, Utah County — A man died Wednesday after an over-correction caused his vehicle to roll several times on state Route 68.
The SUV the man was driving in was headed north, toward Lehi, on the highway, which is also known as Redwood Road, as it meets up with Redwood in Salt Lake City. About 10:45 a.m., it left the road at the beginning of a left-hand curve for unknown reasons, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The driver, whose name was not released, over-corrected to the left, causing the vehicle to roll several times.
UHP reports that the driver was thrown from the vehicle and sustained major head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
