A digital billboard in Sandy, Utah, reportedly congratulated the University of Utah for winning the Pac-12 Championship ... even though they didn’t.

  • The screen shows Utah’s logo and the Pac-12 trophy.
  • Text on the billboard deemed the Utah Utes as champions.

The original tweet of the billboard came at 10:22 p.m. MT, which was about 30 minutes after the Pac-12 title game wrapped up. The Oregon Ducks defeated Utah, 37-15, in that game.

What they’re saying: “If anyone in Sandy, Utah was out and about on Friday night, they may have gotten the wrong impression about how the game went,” according to 24/7 Sports. “If anyone didn’t watch the game and saw that billboard, they may be a little surprised by the next College Football Playoff ranking.”
