Police Arrest Suspect After Woman, 23, Was Shot Tuesday Evening

Police have arrested a woman and charged her with shooting Briana Smith, 23, at the 600 block of W. 13th St. Ct. on Tuesday evening.

Chattanooga Police were called to a local hospital after the victim arrived, suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators said the shooting resulted from a verbal disorder between two people. 

After speaking to Ms. Smith, a suspect, Clinnita Chambliss, 33, was located by police and taken into custody. Ms. Chambliss is charged with aggravated assault, attempted first degree murder, and felony reckless endangerment. 

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are investigating this incident.  Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 698-2525.
