The Lennox Town Center 24 Theatres is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday.

The Lennox Town Center 24 Theatre will reopen Tuesday — just in time for the holidays, its new management company announced Monday.

This comes after AMC Theatres indicated it was permanently closing the Kinnear Road location last month and Phoenix Theatres Entertainment stepped in a day later to announce it was taking over management.

"Phoenix Theatres is proud to reopen the Lennox Town Center 24 Theatre in time for the holiday season when all schools are closed and many people are off work to spend time with their families," Phil Zacheretti, president and CEO of Phoenix Theatres, said in a statement. "We look forward to continue being the theatre of choice for all OSU students and staff and the wonderful neighborhood around the theatre."

The company's website, www.phoenixtheatres.com, shows "Monster Hunter" and "Elf" as being among the movies screening on Tuesday. The blockbuster "Wonder Woman 1984" is one of the films scheduled to join the lineup on Friday.

Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Phoenix Theatres was founded in 2001. It currently manages or owns 144 screens at 14 locations in 11 states.

The AMC Theatre's Lennox Town Center opened in 1996 on the site of a former air-conditioner production plant. Over the years, the shopping center grew into a hub of retail and restaurants.

The COVID-19 pandemic has crushed the theater industry, including AMC Entertainment, which owns the world's largest movie-theater circuit. The cinema chain reported a loss of over $900 million in the third quarter.
