BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The city of Brazil, Ind. announced Wednesday the tenth annual Mayor’s Ride, a motorcycle ride and fundraising event benefiting the Clay County Humane Society, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 2 and that sponsors are needed for the event.

Registration for the event is already underway at the Brazil City Hall located at 203 E. National Ave. Riders will be able to register the day of the event starting at 2 p.m. on Oct. 2 and lasting until 3 p.m. Riders will then leave city hall at 3 p.m. and food service begins at 6 p.m. at the Brazil American Legion located at 10 N. Depot Street.

Entry fees for the ride cost $30 for individuals and $50 for couples, the release said. Entry fees include a free t-shirt and food, although those not participating can also buy t-shirts at the event for $20.

For the past decade, according to a news release, the money raised from this event has helped provide food, shelter and medical treatment to the local shelter. Organizers said they are hoping this tenth year will be the biggest Mayor’s Ride yet.

Live music will be performed at the event by 15th and Hulman. There will also be a silent auction at the event.
