Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department Jail Administrator Vicky Russell died Sunday, Sept. 19, at North Mississippi Medical Center after being hospitalized three weeks ago with pneumonia.

Russell, whose radio call number was “BB1,” held the rank of Major in the department and was third in command according to Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson. He described her as someone who was tough but had a heart for her job and the people she met.
