SUMMIT TWP., MI – One person has died from injuries suffered in Tuesday afternoon’s two-vehicle crash on Spring Arbor Road.
The 61-year-old Jackson man, who has not been identified by police, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala out of a parking lot near the intersection of Spring Arbor Road and 19th Street around 3 p.m., Nov. 5, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s office. He pulled into the path of a westbound Dodge pickup truck, police said.
The man died from his injuries at Henry Ford Allegiance Health, police said. A passenger in his vehicle, a 47-year-old Jackson woman, also has life-threatening injuries, they said. Both were extricated from vehicle by Summit Township Fire Department personnel.
The driver of the pickup, a 40-year-old Jackson woman, was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.
Spring Arbor Road was closed for several hours around 18th Street while the crash scene was investigated by the sheriff’s office accident reconstruction team. The investigation remains on-going, police said.
