Nashville, Tenn. (September 28, 2020) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/GM David Poile announced Monday that the team has loaned forward Yakov Trenin to the Kontinental Hockey League's SKA Saint Petersburg until the start of Nashville's training camp for the 2020-21 NHL season.
The Predators signed Trenin, 23 (1/13/97), to a two-year, $1.45 million contract on Sept. 24. The Chelyabinsk, Russia, native skated in 21 games for the Predators in 2019-20 - his rookie NHL campaign - and tallied six points (2g-4a) and nine penalty minutes. After making his NHL debut on Oct. 19, 2019 versus Florida, Trenin went on to score his first career NHL goal in his next game on Dec. 7, 2019 versus New Jersey and tacked on another one against the Los Angeles Kings less than a month later. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound forward averaged 9:44 of ice time with Nashville and registered at least one hit in 18 of his 21 contests.
