Nueces County man on Texas DPS most wanted sex offender list arrested in Oklahoma
A 40-year-old man featured on the Texas Department of Public Safety's Top 10 Most wanted sex offender list was captured in Oklahoma.
Christian J. Bjorgaard was wanted for outstanding warrants in Nueces and Nacogdoches counties, according to a Texas DPS wanted post.
He was wanted on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and assault- family violence, the poster states.
Bjorgaard's last known address was in Corpus Christi.
He was convicted of indecency with a child-sexual contact and attempt to commit sexual assault involving a 6-year-old and 10-year-old girl. He was released from prison in 2015 and was required to register as a sex offender, the poster states.
Bjorgaard was apprehended on April 5 in Terlton, Oklahoma — about 670 miles north of Corpus Christi.
DPS offered up to $5,000 for information leading to Bjorgaard's arrest.
"The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward will be paid," the poster states.
