HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. – Crews successfully put out a wildfire in Hendry County on Monday, according to the Florida Forest Service. The South Kennel Street fire was located in Montura. As of 11:30 a.m., the fire was 100% contained, FFS reported. Earlier in the morning, the fire reached just under 20 acres. Crews worked to protect a nearby structure from the flames. Fire crews on scene said there is still some visible smoldering, but the dozers are loading up.
