Married people may have a lower risk of heart disease, according to a new study.
Researchers analyzed more than 30 studies that included information from more than 2 million people.
They found that unmarried people had a 42 percent greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease than married folks.
And they had a 16 percent higher risk of coronary artery disease.
The data also showed that the risks of developing heart-related diseases were greater for formerly married people than for currently married people.
The study was published in the journal “Heart.”
