POSEN, Ill. — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 57 in Posen.
Illinois State Police said the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday on outbound I-57 near 147th Street, after the female passenger exited the vehicle.
Another vehicle traveling southbound then struck and killed the woman.
All lanes of traffic on southbound I-57 were shut down around 3:10 a.m. and diverted off at 127th for a police investigation. All lanes reopened to traffic as of 7 a.m. Monday.
No other details were provided.
