State to offer youth safety symposium in Montrose

The Colorado School Safety Resource Center, in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Safety and the Montrose County School District, will be holding a Western Slope Youth Safety Symposium next month.

The symposium will feature presentations from best selling authors Rosalind Wisemand (“Queen Bees and Wannabes”) and Ben Cort (“Weed, INC”), along with a serious of workshops on topics such as suicide prevention, sexting, marijuana, bullying and more.

The symposium we be held at the Montrose Pavilion from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 9. School staff, law enforcement, mental health professional, school resource officers, parents and anyone who works with youth are encouraged to attend. Registration is $50, and is currently open at bit.ly/WesternSafetySymposium.
