The football season is winding down for North Dakota High Schools while Minnesota High Schools enter week two of their season.

DAVIES DEFEATS SHANLEY, 42-27 IN BATTLE FOR 25TH STREET

FARGO -- It was a battle for the 25th Street Trophy.

Playoff implications on the line, Davies makes it 21-0 before halftime after Truman Werremeyer makes his way into the end zone. They'd lead big at the break.

Shanley not going away quietly. The Deacons cut their deficit to 28-21 after quarterback Cooper Mattern airs it out to Carter Kochman.

Davies puts it away late in the fourth quarter and they are now 6-1 on the season. Shanley falls to 4-3.

SHEYENNE DEFEATS SOUTH, 42-14, WINS SECOND STRAIGHT EDC TITLE

WEST FARGO -- Sheyenne continued it's torrent run through the EDC on Friday night, capping off a second straight conference title.

The Mustangs opened up a 13-0 lead on South after one quarter and never looked back, winning 42-14.

It solidifies a top seed out of the East for the AAA playoffs for Sheyenne.

The Mustangs are 6-0 on the year, with one last game against Central still on the schedule for next week. The Bruins finish the year at 3-4.

MOORHEAD DEFEATS ALEXANDRIA, 42-0

MOORHEAD -- The return to football continues to be a success for Moorhead.

The Spuds posted a dominating shutout win over Alexandria, 42-0. Trey Feeney tossed out four touchdown passes in the first half, three to Jacqui Fitzpatrick.

Moorhead has allowed just six points over eight quarters of play to start the season.

The Spuds are out to a 2-0 start, they travel to Sartell- St. Stephen next week. The Cardinals are 1-1, they travel to Brainerd next.


D-G-F REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH 13-8 WIN AT PERHAM

PERHAM-- The last time Perham and DGF met, the Yellowjackets stunned the Rebels at the Fargodome, on Friday it was another close battle.

Justin Wang scored a furst yard touchdown and that help make the difference as DGF won on the road, 13-8.

The Rebels host Park Rapids Area in its home opener on Friday, October 23rd.

Perham drops to 1-1 and travels to Pequot Lakes next week.

SECOND RANKED HILLSBORO-CENTRAL VALLEY WINS EAST REGION WITH 21-6 WIN OVER NO. 3 KINDRED

HILLSBORO-- For the fourth straight year, Hillsboro-Central Valley wins the East Region 2A title after defeating Kindred, 21-6.

Turnovers were the story of the first half, but the Burros came together in the third quarter after Parker Gallagher scored a touchdown and Kaden Pastian capped off the scoring in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Sam Preston threw two touchdown passes.

Hillsboro-Central Valley secures home field for the playoffs with the win. Burros move to 7-1 and are at Valley City on Saturday, October 24th to close out the regular season.

Matthew Pearson scored the lone touchdown for the Vikings as Kindred drops to 4-1. Vikings close out the regular season at Devils Lake next Saturday.

VALLEY CITY DEFEATS NO. 5 CENTRAL CASS 18-14

VALLEY CITY -- The Hi-Liners welcomed the No. 5 ranked Squirrels on Friday night.

Central Cass jumps out to a good start...when Issac Williams forced a Max Fehr fumble on the opening possession, but the Squirrels fail to answer.

Aiden Jacobson intercepts Central Cass quarterback Brendan Maasjo and that leads to a huge touchdown run by Fehr to put the Hi-Liners ahead 6-0.

Valley City goes on to defeat Central Cass to improve to 2-4; Central Cass falls to 3-4.

DEVILS LAKE DEFEATS WAHPETON 27-26

WAHPETON -- Wahpeton honored former Huskie player Ryan Smith before the game.

Firebirds jump ahead 14-0 after a touchdown run by Colton Schneider. Wahpeton gets on the board in the second quarter when Blake Schafer finds Dez Munezero for six and the Huskie cut the lead to 14-8.

Devils Lake hangs on to win though, after Schneider's second touchdown run of the first half. Firebirds improve to 3-5; Wahpeton falls to 1-6.

NO. 1 LANGDON DEFEATS No. 5 GRAFTON 45-6

LANGDON -- The top 5A matchup in the state features No. 5 Grafton and No. 1 Langdon/Edmore/Munich.

It's all Cardinals in the first quarter after Simon Romfo finds Markus Kingzett in the corner of the end zone.

Romfo would find the end zone with his feet later on for 40 yards as LEM wins its 35th game in a row. Grafton falls to 7-2.

GRANT COUNTY DEFEATS LINTON-HMB 28-26

ELGIN -- Two top teams in 9-man football meet under the Friday Night Lights.

Thomas Bryant gets the Storm on the board early taking the sweep up the sideline and into the end zone.

Jon Bogert adds another score in the first quarter as Grant County wins the Region 4 championship. Linton-HMB falls to 6-1; Grant County improves to 6-1.
