Snuffed out like a bug

Many people are forever shocked by George Floyd’s life being snuffed out like you’d crush a bug, all over an allegedly fake $20 bill. Putting George Floyd’s smiling face on $20 bills would serve as a reminder to respect life, regardless of the circumstances.

How about interviews?

No doubt with the Democrats or Republicans common sense is not there. They get into office, and the rest is history. None of the measures will solve the problem, but instead will hurt the small businesses these folks have. I am a lifetime NRA member, and so many things they support are nuts and not common sense. What difference does it make waiting a couple of extra days, etc.? What is on paper just does not work. How about interviews, checking with doctors, etc.? We do it for travel, why not guns? People kill people, not guns. It’s a tool like anything else that is to harm others. At least with travel, no one dies.

Take air out of balloons

“Used correctly PPE saves lives; disposed of incorrectly it kills marine life.” Releasing balloons kills animals and marine life too. Stop releasing balloons please.

Shame on them

Why is the News-Sun, aka the Tribune Company, so quick to print stories regarding Matt Gaetz’ “activities,” but is mum of the multiple vices and escapades of Hunter Biden? It is so obvious that the Tribune Company is biased. Shame on them.

Scare tactics a bad idea

This is to the District 121 school system regarding the loss of the tax referendum. Using scare tactics is probably one of the worst things you can do to parents. Instead of threatening to cut teachers, how about cutting some of the administration. Do you need an assistant superintendent? How about cutting or freezing the wages on the top dogs. Hopefully the school board will be able to do the checks and balances, and work with the cash it has.

Party of lies

The Republican Party has become little more than the party of lies, and tax cuts for the rich. They’ve taken a stand against Democracy, at least in the sense of a government that responds to the will of the people. They’re working to make it harder for certain people to vote, while refusing to allow passage of laws supported by a majority of Republicans. Maybe the dirty tricks they’ve used recently against their own donors, conning them into unknowingly making monthly and even weekly donations, will wake some people up.

What a bunch of hypocrites

According to the Chicago Tribune, voter turnout in Lake County’s April 6 municipal races was just 13.7 %. In other words, out of every 100 registered and eligible voters, only about 14 took the time to vote. This is in a Democratic county. So, I presume many of these non-voters are the same Democrats who are so angry over supposed “voter suppression” in Georgia, which of course is a lie, but that’s another story. I guess a lot of Republicans stayed home, too, but Republican votes are generally meaningless here in Lake County, so that’s understandable, But, how can Democrats claim to be so concerned about “voter suppression” when so many of them can’t even take half an hour to go vote? I thought voting was so important to Democrats. Or, is that just another of their idealistic, abstract and useless ideas? What a bunch of hypocrites.

Sooner the better

I’m disappointed to see that so many people are still criticizing each other for their political beliefs. Months before the presidential election, a good friend and ardent Trump supporter kept boasting that he believed that Trump would be reelected. I’m an independent and didn’t believe he would. So I bet him a beer and pizza night out, with the loser buying. So if you recently were out for pizza and saw two guys laughing and enjoying beer and pizza, that was probably us. For your own sake, and America’s too, certainly support your candidates and vote. But stop the harsh criticism. The sooner the better.
