Sharife Cooper

Perhaps I’m riding the high of his electric debut yesterday…

…or maybe I’m putting too much stock into Bleacher Report’s optimism about him being a Top 40 prospect:

"If (Cooper) does suit up this season, there will be plenty of interest in his creativity off the dribble and confident shooting."

Then again, maybe I just know first-hand that Sharife Cooper’s creativity, burst, and fluid change of speeds with the basketball in his hands are all qualities in a floor general that we currently see with Payton Pritchard, and saw before that with Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas (yea I went there).

Cooper is a special talent that the NCAA robbed Auburn of getting the chance to see for the first 11 games of the season. I missed him when I saw the team put a 36-point whooping on the Troy Trojans.

I hope to be able to catch Cooper next time on the Plains, but I’d really love to catch him every time I turn on the Boston Celtics game during the 2021-22 season.

Allen Flanigan

Currently projected to be the #17 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Allen Flanigan is the ideal target for the Boston Celtics at this moment in time. The wing is loaded with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, but there should absolutely be another capable defender in the mix for when that trio sits.

Brad Stevens has been able to fill that void with Semi Ojeleye and Javonte Green, but the former is a better stretch-4 and the latter shouldn’t be relied on by a team with NBA Championship dreams.

Flanigan would be a nice faller to catch on draft day, and Boston surely wouldn’t turn away his two-way abilities if they had a chance to land him in the late first round, where Danny Ainge will presumably pick.
