The 3D photo book for online photo printers

The 3D photo book for online photo printers

At Pops, we’re empowering photo book printers with a new white-label solution to add a 3D effect on photos: PopsAnaglyph. This anaglyph technique enables people to watch their memories in 3D thanks to 3D paper glasses. Whether it comes from an iPhone, an Instagram profile or a DSLR camera, all the photos can be turned into 3D anaglyphs and printed out in a 3D photo book.

An immersive photo experience

Everyone has seen movies in 3D but when it comes to your memories, the feeling is very different. Seeing your baby, your grandma, your BFF or even you on your wedding day popping out the pages is definitely a new way to enjoy memories. Sometimes you feel you could literally dive one’s arm into those pages.

Over the years at Pops we are defining a new approach to printed photography. With this anaglyph technique, we’re making one step further in the experience of immersive memories.

Imagine being able to turn any photo of your customers into a 3D photo with the help of pretty fun 3D anaglyph glasses that will make their memories even more magical than they already are. Well thanks to PopsAnaglyph, it is possible! Our new solution will automatically process the photos of your customers into 3D anaglyphs. It’s a solution compatible with any printer and any substrate, all you need to do is to focus on your best print quality, as usual.

A cloud-based solution

We’re licensing our patented technologies for photo brands through a Saas model. Photo printers have easy access to Pops3D solutions online. Once you set up our solution, the photos from your customers are automatically turned into 3D anaglyphs to be printed out in photo books.

Our technology is designed to scale with up to 100.000 images per hour. For every image processed into an anaglyph, Pops charges $0.06.

With this new technology, we’re targeting small and big photo book printers in the world: Shutterfly, CEWE, Photobox, etc. The 3D photo book is undoubtedly the fashionable photo product in 2022.

How does anaglyph 3D work ?

Surfing on all the recent innovations in computational photography, we are releasing an impressive feature for photo lovers.

Anaglyph 3D images contain two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the “color-coded” “anaglyph glasses”, each of the two images reaches the eye it’s intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain fuses this into the perception of a three-dimensional scene or composition.

At Pops we recreate this stereoscopic vision from a single 2D photo thanks to AI algorithms.

Regarding 3D anaglyph glasses, at Pops, we have customized ours to make them a real accessory for the immersion in the memories. It’s the tool that will make all the difference for your customers. In addition, the fact that you can create and customize 3D anaglyph glasses with your brand’s image will reinforce your identity and add value to your brand spirit. And to be honest, it’s a fun part of the process!
