Supermodel Paulina Porizkova has been open about the great lengths she will go to maintain her incredible physique without going under the knife - and she has now revealed her latest non-invasive beauty treatment: radiofrequency cellulite removal.

The 55-year-old mother-of-two showed off her pert behind and enviable legs in black underwear and thigh-high stocking while posing for a picture at a cosmetic surgeon's office in New York, where she has been undergoing treatment to tackle her cellulite.

Insecurities: Despite being praised for the at-home boudoir images, Paulina admitted that her cellulite has stopped her from wearing shorts and short skirts

'Cellulite. I’ve pretty much always had some (more as I age) and despite trying to love and embrace myself as much as I can the way I am - I’m not particularly inspired to wear shorts or short skirts,' she wrote in the caption.

Clearly eager to change that before the summer months arrive, Paulina turned to New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Yael Halaas for help, explaining to her 346,000 Instagram followers that she has been 'trying out' a costly radiofrequency treatment to try and tackle her cellulite once and for all.

'I’ve been trying out this Emtone machine... at Dr Halaas’ office, which is supposed to reduce cellulite,' she explained.

'After four treatments, I’m not perfectly smooth skinned- but the back of my thighs definitely look a lot better.'

The results have been impressive enough that the mother-of-two is already contemplating using the treatment on other areas of her body, sharing: 'Now I want to go back for more on my inner thighs.'

According to Dr. Halaas' website, the Emtone treatment is a 'non-invasive, FDA-approved cellulite treatment that can help smooth out skin without any pain or discomfort' using 'radiofrequency and pressure energy to smooth out your skin and eliminate the appearance of dimples or unwanted texture'.

Experts typically recommend patients undergo four sessions in order to see the best results - with each treatment costing anywhere between $600 and $800, depending on the area being tackled. This means Paulina's treatment could have cost anything up to $3,200 for all four sessions.

Although the results are meant to last between three and 12 months, and patients are advised to get 'touch-up sessions' every few months in order to keep their cellulite at bay.

Despite her candid confession about her concerns over her cellulite, many of Paulina's followers were not entirely convinced that she has anything to worry about, with several commenters chiming in to insist that the supermodel looks 'perfect' and 'genetically blessed'.

'Those legs for days look pretty smoothe to me,' one person said, while another added: 'Wow you look perfect to me... genetically blessed.'

'I always thought you had perfect thighs!' a third person chimed in.

Others praised the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model for being so open about her cosmetic treatment, with one person writing: 'Thank you so much for being honest and sharing. It's a personal choice and to any of the haters out there just don't pay attention if you don't like this post.

'For those of us who do like to maintain and get frustrated with the lack of transparency... I'm so incredibly appreciative that you shared your experience.'

That sentiment was echoed by another fan, who wrote: 'I love how transparent you are and so beautiful inside/out. Thank you Paulina!'

Paulina's decision to open up about her cellulite insecurities - and the steps she is taking to conquer them - comes days after she hit back at trolls who branded her 'desperate' for posing in a sexy lingerie shoot, in which she proudly showed off her enviable figure.

The supermodel opened up about the hot-button issue during an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show on Friday, during which she spoke out about the bitter backlash she faced for posting an at-home lingerie shoot on Instagram, for which critics called her 'desperate' and 'sick'.

'In my 20s, I was celebrated for showing up in lingerie,' she pointed out when asked by Tamron, 50, why women 'celebrating our aging in this empowering way rubs a nerve with some people'.

'I was getting quite a lot of money for it, and everybody loved me.'

That waterfall of praise quickly dried up as soon as Paulina reached her mid-40s however - and began facing furious criticism whenever she tried to embrace her sexuality.

'I still think I look pretty good in lingerie [in my 50s], but the reaction is reviled. Obviously not by everybody, but there is a fair amount of backlash about [it].

'I think it's because, when you get older, there's a certain sort of invisible boundary that happens maybe in your mid-40s, where you I guess don't look fertile anymore? It's [maybe] a menopausal sort of thing.

'And maybe it's because you're starting to look like someone's mom that sexy isn't allowed. You're allowed to be beautiful, you're allowed to be handsome, you're allowed to be present, you're allowed to be even shocking or eye-opening, but you are not allowed to be sexy.'

Paulina touched on the topic of aging once again on Friday when she took to Instagram to share a selfie - along with some opinions about women being judged for their looks as they get older.

Referring back to comments she received about her 'pet peeve' of celebrities 'claiming their ageless looks were just healthy living', she noted how women seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to maintaining youthful looks.

'As a woman, you are shamed if you look your age and you’re shamed if you do interventions to not look your age,' she wrote.

Paulina used Jane Fonda as a perfect example of this, questioning why the actress is constantly asked about what procedures she has had done - even when she has been incredibly open about her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery in the past.

'Is it any wonder that many celebrities would prefer not to have to defend their choices every single day? What if you went to your office and [you were] always introduced as “Jenny, who has Botox in her forehead and had a lower facelift” when you’re there to pitch a great new idea, or sell off on a deal, or just sign contracts?' she said.

'Would you be so keen on letting everyone know if it is then becomes what defines you as a person, rather that your abilities and talent and personality?'

Her appearance on the show, and her candid Instagram post, come just days after Paulina exposed some of the cruel trolls who criticized her lingerie photos by posting screenshots of their comments on her Instagram account.

'Sis. Ur far too desperate for attention. It's cringeworthy,' one person commented, while another added: 'I think ur just easy & wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to something used up.'

Someone else insinuated she was a gold digger for marrying her late husband, The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, who passed away in September 2019.

'YOU MARRIED A HIDEOUS LOOKING MAN FOR HIS MONEY,' the Instagram user wrote, disregarding the fact that Paulina made millions of dollars at the height of her modeling career.

Paulina called the commenters 'bullies' in her caption, but she insisted that she was more amused than upset by their hateful messages.

'Aaand — to start my week — some thoughtful readers’ comments,' she wrote. 'I know many of you believe that trolls and nasty people should just be deleted —  but I beg to disagree.

'I believe in holding them responsible for what they say. Plus, I find them sort of hilarious,' she added. 'You know how you disarm the bullies in the schoolyard, right? You LAUGH at them.'

Prior to opening up about her Emtone treatments, Paulina revealed that she has also been undergoing another non-invasive beauty procedure: EMSculpt NEO, which is supposed to tighten the muscles and firm the skin.

Last week, she promoted the treatment with a sponsored post that showed her posing in her black underwear while the machine was strapped to her belly.

'Here I am showing the paddle on the lower belly, a typical problem spot — although I must admit — I went off script a little and asked to do my thighs — which have always been what I disliked most about my body,' she wrote.

'Four weeks later, I was in my usual Pilates class, and realized I could do all the thigh toning exercises with ease. Honestly, that sort of blew my mind. EMSculpt NEO really does work!

'Obviously, I exercise regularly for my physical — and even more importantly to me at the moment — emotional health,' she added. 'But when you have that little stubborn fat pad that refuses to go away no matter how much you work out? I sense another scantily clad photo session in my immediate future.'
