BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - UPDATE

Louisiana State Police detectives made an arrest Friday in a string of burglaries. Shawn Ramon Freeman, 49, of Greenwell Springs, was arrested around midnight during a traffic stop in Golden Meadow. He's accused of robbing multiple cash advances locations. Freeman will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of armed robbery. Additional charges are pending.

ORIGINAL STORY

Police are investigating several armed robberies at eight different cash advance locations in Baton Rouge that have happened since April.

The first happened on April 6 at the Quick Cash on Airline Highway. A few days later, the Payday Advance on Airline was robbed as well. A thief went after Easy Money on Airline at the end of the month. Then on May 3, someone hit up the Advance America on Government Street. The very next day, police say someone robbed the American Cash, also on Airline Highway.

A few days later, the Advance America on Plank Road was held up. The location on Siegen Lane was robbed a week later. The most recent incident happened at Dr. Check on Florida Boulevard.
