In a case of murder-suicide in Chesapeake, Virginia, a man fatally shot his wife before killing himself at their home Friday morning.

According to local reports, officers responded to a home in South Norfolk around 1 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting incident.

They found a woman, identified as 48-year-old Angela Jones, with gunshot wound. She succumbed to the injuries at the scene.

Police said the woman’s husband, identified as 47-year-old Joseph Jones, barricaded himself inside the home. When the SWAT team and the police managed to gain entry to the home five hours later, they found the man dead.

Police believe the man killed his wife and himself following a domestic dispute. Other family members were inside the home when the incident took place, however, nobody else was injured in the shooting. Police have requested anyone with any information to call Crime Line at 1-888-562-5887.

The incident comes a day after a man fatally shot his wife and her 18-year-old neighbor, before killing himself in Maryland. Heather Zujkowski lived with her three children on Bennett Branch Road following separation from her husband, 35-year-old Joseph Zujkowski . On Thursday (April 2) afternoon, Joseph arrived at his wife’s home and opened fire before shooting her 18-year-old neighbor who was outside his home at the time of the shooting.

He then fled from the scene. Police arrived at the scene and found the neighbor with a gunshot. He died on the way to the hospital. Police then found Heather lying in a pool of blood at her home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. When the police arrived at Joseph’s home to detain him, he shot himself and was declared dead at the scene. Investigation was ongoing to find out the motive behind the incident.

In another incident in Summerville, South Carolina, earlier this week, a man shot his wife before killing himself. Police responded to the home and found a man and a woman lying in a pool of blood. Police said the victims were a married couple and the man shot his wife before fatally shooting himself.
