Savannah Chrisley isn't shying away from discussing her health, taking to Instagram to reveal that doctors will operate on her for a third time due to pain caused by endometriosis, despite the fact that she is "insanely self-conscious" about her diagnosis. The 23-year-old Chrisley Knows Best star opened up to be "vulnerable" on Instagram earlier this week, sharing that her battle with endometriosis has been "quite the struggle" after first discovering the source of her extreme pain at age 18.

"VULNERABLE MOMENT FOR MY LADIES: I haven’t talked about this much because honestly… I have struggled BIG TIME. I’m insanely self-conscious and just feel like my body has given up on me," Savannah shared on Instagram. "I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 18 and it’s been quite the struggle."

A disorder in which uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus itself, endometriosis can be extremely painful — and Savannah says the intense pain she experiences also manifests negative side effects in her mental health status as well. "The pain at times is unbearable, and the toll it takes on my emotional/psychological health is pretty rough at times," she shared. "Tomorrow, I have my 3rd surgery. I have found a specialist in Atlanta and he is ONE OF A KIND!"

According to medical experts at the Mayo Clinic, most endometriosis cases are treated with laparoscopic surgery, in which endometrial tissue is removed via a small incision in your abdomen. Savannah says she's planning to share a video blog about the surgery soon and will also discuss her endometriosis struggles, engaging with women who have also faced the disorder. "I wanna hear your stories ❤️" she said. "Let’s help and inspire one another #endometriosis #endowarrior"

Many fans wished Savannah well, and revealed that they, too, are facing challenges as they navigate life with endometriosis. "I suffer from it too! People don't realise [sic] how painful and draining it is," one fan shared, while another divulged a personal sacrifice: "I had to have a hysterectomy at 39 because of it. No babies for me. Struggled most of my life. Good luck tomorrow ❤️"

Savannah's father Todd, who recently recovered from a severe case of COVID-19, also left messages of support before his daughter underwent her third surgery. "You continue to make us so proud, we are right beside you always, you've got this," the 51-year-old Chrisley Knows Best patriarch said. "God is in control and you know where you stand with him, so it's already taken care of."

A few other friends also encouraged Savannah to stay strong: "Praying for you ❤️❤️❤️," wrote Don't Be Tardy's Brielle Biermann. Nia Sanchez, former Miss USA, shared she was proud of Savannah for opening up: "So great for you to share this. It will encourage so many."
