MOUNT VERNON, NY — A Mount Vernon man who brandished a loaded gun on Hussey Road last year was found guilty Monday by a jury of weapons possession charges.

On Aug. 16, 2018, Mount Vernon police responded to a 911 call reporting a man there with a gun. They found Richard Johnson, 37, with the gun. Its serial number had been defaced, which is done to hide its origin.

Judge David Zuckerman charged the jury Monday afternoon Nov. 25, and deliberations continued with a break for the Thanksgiving holiday. The jury returned Monday and delivered the verdict.
