Police Release Body-Camera Footage of Fatal Shooting in Seattle

Seattle Police Department released footage showing officers shoot and kill a man who they said fatally shot one person and left another critically injured on February 9.

In the video, officers can be seen responding to reports of shots fired outside the Northwest African American Museum in the city.

Surveillance footage shows a man carrying a gun in the museum’s parking lot. The body-worn footage shows the person raising a gun at officers.

Police said officers responded and exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who died at the scene.

Police said they found two other people with multiple gunshot wounds when they made their way into the parking lot. One of the shooting victims died during transport to the hospital, they said.

The shooting is being investigated by the Crime Scene Investigation Squad and the Force Investigation Team, police said. Credit: Seattle Police Department via Storyful
