Love Island fans beg producers to bring back the lie detector test to reveal Jake’s true intentions with Liberty

LOVE Island fans have begged producers to bring back the lie detector test to reveal Jake Cornish's true intentions with girlfriend Liberty Poole.

Over the past week, the Nandos waitress, 21, has had doubts about her relationship with the water engineer, 24.

It was a low blow for Liberty when she was shown a clip of the Weston-super-Mare lad admitting that he wasn't sexually attracted to her.

However, things were made worse when Jake held her back from going to give her best mate Kaz Kamwi a hug after becoming exclusive with Tyler Cruickshank.

His recent actions have made the Brummie lass question if everything he's doing is for the cameras.

While many viewers think Jake is "playing a game", others want the lie detector test to make an epic comeback to find out Jake's real intentions.

One wrote on Twitter: "they need to bring back the “lie detector test”."

Another said: "think the only way we'll know if Jake really loves Liberty, is if he does a lie detector."

A third chimed in: "Bring back the lie detector and then you can find out Jakes true feelings."

A fourth said: "Yo love island what do you need me to do for you to pull out the lie detector no jokes. Shout me."

The lie detector test was last seen during the fourth series of the show in 2018, with the likes of Laura Anderson, Josh Denzel and Wes Nelson getting hot under the collar.

In 2019 it was revealed that they would be getting rid of it in a bid to clean up the programme, after the death of a Jeremy Kyle Show guest, and last year’s row over the way eventual winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham were treated.

An ITV source said at the time: “A series of top-level meetings have been held over the past few weeks with regard to safety measures and duty of care procedures.

“One of the issues raised was the lie detector. The feeling was, in the wake of the Jeremy Kyle case, bosses must be whiter than white — they cannot mess with people’s emotions.

“The test they used last year was very basic — one not approved by the British Polygraph Association.

“While nothing is set in stone and ideas change on an almost daily basis, at the moment there are no plans to bring the polygraphs back.”

Last night it was revealed that ALL the girls are going to turn on Jake as they tell Liberty he's FAKE during Sunday's episode.

Yesterday the plummer FINALLY said "I love you" back to his girlfriend, but her pals don't seem convinced by his words.

In a teaser shown at the end of Friday night's instalment, Chloe Burrows asks Liberty: "Do you not think he's telling you what he wants to hear?"

The stunner replies: "Is that what all you guys think? Do you think I'm being an idiot?"

Unconvinced viewers think the water engineer was told by the producers to drop the L-bomb after Liberty said she thought he was hamming up his feelings for the cameras.

Jake had to move quickly to convince Liberty he loves her after he left her hanging for four weeks after she said those three little words.

And now fans are convinced Jake's declaration of love was "fake" and "scripted".

Despite all of the drama, Liberty's family "believe Jake is genuine".

The Brummie student's next of kin, who have control of her social media whilst she's in the villa, posted a picture of the pair looking cosy in the villa on her Instagram.

They captioned the post: "Sounded genuine to us ❤️.
