Much of Southwest and Southcentral Alaska will see sunshine on Monday but several large storm systems are moving toward the state.

Western Alaska will see the impacts of the first system starting Monday evening. Winter Storm Warnings will be put in place beginning Monday evening for areas from Scammon Bay north to Kotzebue for heavy snow, blowing snow and high winds. Coastal Flood Advisories and Coastal Flood Warnings will also begin Monday evening for areas from Bristol Bay through Norton Sound. Coastal flooding and erosion are likely in those areas. Parts of the Interior will see the impact of this storm starting Tuesday morning when Winter Storm Warnings for heavy snow and blowing snow will begin.

A second system approaches the Southcentral region on Wednesday bringing rain, snow and slightly warmer temperatures. Anchorage, Matanuska Valley and the Kenai Peninsula can expect snow Wednesday evening into Thursday (Thanksgiving Day). Heavy snow is possible along the eastern Kenai Peninsula through Prince William Sound and Susitna starting late Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday.
