Anglers discover body of 50-year-old man near U.P. lake

ISHPEMING, MI – Two people discovered the body of a 50-year-old man while on their way to go fishing at an Upper Peninsula lake on Sunday, Oct. 18.

The anglers were going fishing at Lake Minnie in Marquette County when they found the body of the Marquette man, TV6 and FOX UP report. They called police to report the body around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Officers from the Ishpeming Police Department responded to Cliffs Drive near Lake Minnie.

The name of the deceased has not been released, the report said. Police are still investigating but have said that foul play is not suspected in this case. An autopsy is planned.
