They have the same first name, are on the MLive’s Miss Basketball watch list and come next year, they will be teammates at Illinois.

But last week, Aaliyah McQueen and Aaliyah Nye were opponents.

Committed Carlee Crabtree: Central Michigan

Highlights: Crabtree had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in Coldwater’s 49-39 loss to Parma Western Friday in the Cardinals’ lone game of the week. Crabtree is averaging 19 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals. Coldwater will visit Jackson Northwest Tuesday and Battle Creek Pennfield Friday.

Sophie Dziekan

School: Brighton

Position: Center

Size: 6-2

Committed: Bowling Green

Highlights: Brighton is 15-1 overall after beating Howell 64-40 Tuesday and Novi 58-21 Friday. Dziekan had 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals 2 assists and a block against Howell and 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 assists versus Novi. Brighton will travel to Hartland Tuesday and host Salem Thursday.

Gabrielle Elliott

School: Detroit Edison

Position: Wing

Size: 5-10

Committed: Clemson

Highlights: Edison gave Farmington Hills Mercy its second loss of the season Friday, 59-41. Elliott led the way with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Edison, 14-0 and ranked No. 1, will visit Adrian Lenawee Christian (15-1) tonight, host Detroit Cass Tech (15-2) Tuesday and travel to Saginaw Heritage (11-5) Friday.

Position: Forward

Size: 6-1

Committed: Ball State

Highlights: Grant led Dakota to a 50-48 win over Birmingham Marian Tuesday, recording 13 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. She then had 8 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks in Dakota’s 58-27 win against Utica Ford. Dakota will play at Port Huron Tuesday and in Thursday’s MAC Tournament.

Kenzie Lewis

School: Williamston

Position: Guard

Size: 5-10

Committed: Bowling Green

Highlights: Lewis’ put back shot with .5 seconds left lifted Williamston to a 37-35 victory over DeWitt Tuesday. She led the way with 14 points, 4 assists, 10 rebounds and 2 steals. She received limited minutes in Friday’s 67-15 win versus Lansing Eastern, finishing with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. The Hornets are 14-3 ( 6-1 in the CAAC Red). Williamston plays home on Friday against CAAC leader Haslett. Lewis is averaging 13.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 2.9 steals, and she is shooting 58.3 percent from the floor and 75.6 from the free throw line.

School: Southfield A&T

Position: Guard

Committed: University at Buffalo

Highlights: McEvans had 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in Southfield’s 54-52 win over West Bloomfield. She then had 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists and a block in Southfield’s 51-39 win against Bloomfield. Southfield will visit Rochester Hills Stoney Creek Thursday.

Aaliyah McQueen

School: Flint Carman-Ainsworth

Position: Guard/Forward

Size: 5-9

Committed: Illinois

Highlights: Carman-Ainsworth dropped a 50-41 decision to East Lansing on Feb. 10 in a game between to one-loss teams and a pair of Miss Basketball watch list players – McQueen and Aaliyah Nye, who have both committed to Illinois. McQueen finished with 14 points. She also had 17 points in Wednesday’s 59-39 win over LaPeer. The Cavaliers will host Detroit Renaissance Wednesday and play at Flint Powers Catholic Friday.

School: East Lansing

Position: Guard

Size: 5-11

Committed: Illinois

Highlights: Nye and her teammates notched two more wins last week, including the Feb. 8 50-41 win over Flint Carman-Ainsworth. Nye had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. She had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a 71-30 win over Holt despite playing just the first half. East Lansing will visit Okemos Tuesday and Grand Ledge Friday.

Lauren Ross

School: Muskegon Reeths-Puffer

Position: Guard

Size: 5-10

Committed: Ferris State

Highlights: Ross had two more big games last week. She had 27 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in a 50-47 win against Mona Shores, and she had the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer. She also had 23 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals in a 60-41 win over Muskegon. Reeths-Puffer will play at Fruitport Tuesday.

Committed: Western Michigan

Highlights: Saxman had 11 points in Friday’s 54-45 loss to Kalamazoo Christian. Schoolcraft has two more games this week – Tuesday at Bronson and Friday at home versus Galesburg-Augusta.

Position: Center/forward

Size: 6-4

Committed: Michigan

Highlights: Sollom had two more double-doubles last week despite playing less than three quarters in both games. She had 12 points and 12 rebounds against Northville on Tuesday, and she had 11 points and 10 rebounds versus Canton Friday. She has seven double-doubles in 16 games. She is averaging 10.3 points and 10.7 rebounds. Hartland will host Brighton Tuesday and play at Novi Friday.

Committed: Western Michigan

Highlights: The Pirates dominated Saranac 61-20 Wednesday in their lone game last week, and Spitzley had 19 points. The Pirates will host Fowler Tuesday and Bath Thursday.

Committed: Northwood

Highlights:Voelker had 22 points and 6 rebounds in a 45-39 win vs Flushing, then recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in a 50-30 win versus Brandon. Goodrich, 14-2 overall, will host Lake Fenton Tuesday, play at Kingsley Friday and St. Ignace Saturday.
