The number of individuals suffering from a heart attack each year seems to be increasing. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the most common type of heart disease is coronary heart disease.

This disease takes the life of more than 370,000 in a year. In the US, 735,000 Americans suffer from a heart attack. 525,000 of them are considered as a first-time heart attack. The 210,000 already had the previous bout with a heart attack.

The high number of attacks has been linked to an unhealthy lifestyle. Studies have shown that there are certain heart attack trigger foods that could get the ball rolling of an impending attack. These foods can be considered as among the most delicious foods available out there.

Deep-Fried Foods

Who can resist an order of french fries from some of the biggest fast-food chains? Indeed, French fries are satisfying. However, behind this seemingly-innocent food is the risk of a heart attack. Consumption of deep-fried foods like fries increases the risk of heart disease.

Other foods that you must not eat regularly include fried snacks and fried chicken. If any of these foods are cooked using a conventional frying method, tons of trans fats that will be produced. Trans fats raise the body’s bad cholesterol. It then lowers the good cholesterol.

One doctor suggested using olive oil instead of regular cooking oil. He didn’t say people must not fry at home. What the doctor said as per Express is that fried foods not cooked at home must be avoided.

Fast Food Burgers

An associate professor of cardiology at Hofstra University, Dr. Regina Druz, said that “Saturated fats from animals, especially when combined with carbohydrates, appear to have a deleterious effect on heart health.”

Avoiding fast food chains is at the top of the list of Dr. Druz. A look at the burger reveals that it is a combination of saturated fat from animals and combined with carbohydrates.

Processed And Cured Meats

If you are a fan of bacon and sausage, better think again. Processed and cured meats are considered as among the worst foods that one could eat. These foods are high in sodium content, a characteristic that a heart attack generally loves. As a precaution, consume only 6 thin slices of deli meat. This could be a safe level for you.
