The pickup, which was carrying a trailer, struck a concrete median and crossed over into opposite traffic, striking Bhan's Nissan, said State Police Trooper Sgt. Lawrence Peele. The trailer overturned in the roadway and some of the debris struck a third car, a Toyota. The driver of the Toyota was injured as well, although Bhan was the only fatality.

The driver of the pick-up, a Pennsylvania man, was also seriously injured. Sgt. Peele said it still remains under investigation what caused the Pennsylvania pick-up truck driver to veer and crash.

I-78 was closed for about five hours in that area.
