"On Monday, the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of the Treasury shared the names of recipients of loans of at least $150,000. That amounted to about 660,000 small businesses, which the Washington Post noted is about 15% of the total number of loans issued."

"Several thousand loan recipients reported zero jobs retained or left the section blank, as the Post reported. And some companies have noted that the database is imperfect."

Can’t tell if you’re outraged or not?

They have employees to pay and I’m sure their sales have taken a hit.

Interesting - no judgment here - but good to have these data/details out in public. I'm all for transparency. Who isn't? Cheers.

All three of these breweries probably have been hit hard with brewpub sales. I was in Chico a few weeks ago and I always visit the brewery for food and beers with the family. It’s always busy. As of right now it’s still closed and I don’t see it opening anytime soon. I would assume that over the bar sales is the most profitable so that’s a big loss.

hope this loan allows them to keep as many employees as possible.

The 3 wholesalers listed from NJ are all AB or Molsen Coors houses.

Hopefully the money helps to pay employees and bills. Glad to see Allagash Brewing getting some relief, as a previous thread had indicated their sales were down a whopping 70%.

If any business is receiving funds to help keep their staff on the payroll during this, I'm all for it. Don't care if they are part of the big brands, large brewery, or the small guys. Let them take care of their families, and when we are able to, we will be back to drink their beer.

I live a little more than an hour from Bell's. So I visit infrequently. I would guess that the pandemic affected the brewpub employees pretty heavily as well. They have great food there and always have a great selection of beers that are not distributed.

Very much how I feel too. It was interesting scrolling through that list to see all the breweries that were on there. Was mainly looking for regional ones near me but not many. I was shocked by iron hill being up there with so much but they do have a lot of restaurants so I guess more staff?

    Interesting.

Yards took $ while Victory did not. Victory was selling crowlers at $3.33 each and Yards had no deals that I could see. I guess Victory has deeper pockets but feels like they at least made a good attempt to move as much beer as they could.

I supported Iron Hill with their $40 IPA deal the whole time things were closed. 16 x16oz cans of their IPA’s. Nothing was bad. They also did $5 growlers that were pretty good too.

I hope all the companies survive and thrive while taking care of their employees.

    Enjoy

Americans would have been better off if given additional direct payments to people than the $3-5 Trillion dumped into the equity/bond markets, several hundred billion for these loans (including non tax paying NFPs like the Catholic church getting $1.4 Billion) and the tens of billions paid primarily to "too big to fail" banks to process these risk free loans.

Most breweries cut production significantly, distributors cut a substantial portion of deliveries (on-site), so any funds which did not cover rent and other overhead wasn't put to productive use. Unemployment / direct payments would have been more beneficial to many workers. Most of these workers will experience unemployment anyway, more painful at this point due to the fact the unemployment $600 subsidy expires in 17 days. Large numbers of people are getting laid off now, during second wave closures, with nothing to fall back on.

    I count 7:
MOLSON COORS houses - Shore Point, Kohler, Peerless.
AB houses - Ritchie & Page, High Grade, Harrison, Northern Eagle.

Also, Regal Wine (an importer that also has a local NJ wholesaler license with a few smaller craft brands and many imports) is on the list, too.
