Memphis Grizzlies at Washington Wizards odds, picks and prediction

The Washington Wizards (13-19) host the Memphis Grizzlies (15-15) Tuesday at Capital One Arena for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Grizzlies-Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Memphis has won two of its last three games, each win in a dominant fashion. The first being a 28-point beatdown of the Los Angeles Clippers Feb. 26 and the second was a 49-point whooping of the Houston Rockets Sunday. The Grizzlies finished February 7-9 straight up and against the spread.

The Wizards started to bounce back from their slow start in mid-February by winning seven of their last nine games to close the month. They went 8-1 ATS over the stretch. Over those nine games, Washington was seventh in net rating and first in points off of turnovers per game.

The Grizzlies won and covered in both games with the Wizards last season. Memphis PG Ja Morant notched his first career triple-double in the second meeting.

Grizzlies at Wizards: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Grizzlies 116, Wizards 111

Money line (ML)

The Wizards have been one of the hotter teams in the Association in recent weeks, but the GRIZZLIES (-110) can take advantage of their opponent’s ball security issues.

Both teams turnover the ball at the same rate; however, Memphis has the highest defensive turnover rate in the league and Washington is 19th in turnover percentage over its previous nine games.

Furthermore, the Grizzlies are first in points off of turnovers per game and the Wizards are 28th in points off of turnovers allowed since Valentine’s Day. Also, Memphis has two guards in the top-20 in steal percentage and Wizards PG Russell Westbrook is notoriously reckless with the rock.

GIMME GRIZZLIES (-110) for 1 unit.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS on the spread since it’s nearly identical to the money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight lean on UNDER 235.5 (-110) since Memphis’ offense has been inconsistent lately—the Under has cashed in four straight Grizzlies games—and there’s puzzling line movement on this total.

According to Pregame.com, nearly 75% of the bets placed have been on the Over, but the total has been brought down from the 238-point opener, which tells me the House is looking for pro-Over money.

Fade the market is my play here and I’ll drop a QUARTER-UNIT on UNDER 235.5 (-110).
