Gusty, but beautiful, fall weather for Sunday in Austin
If you like your beautiful autumn days with a side of wind, you’re in luck.
The outlook from the National Weather Service is for sunny skies Sunday and a high of 71, but with north northeast gusts of up to 25 mph. The wind should taper off in the evening to 5 mph, with clear skies remaining and a low of around 41.
Before the wind dies down, however, the weather service is warning that the gusty conditions and dry air are conducive to fires in the region.
Continuing through the week, the agency’s extended forecast is calling for much of the same beautiful fall weather, but without the wind gusts and with a bit higher temperatures.
Unfortunately for anyone hoping for rain, there isn’t expected to be any.
November has been extremely dry so far in the Austin area, as was October, and the National Weather Service isn’t expecting relief this week. No precipitation has been recorded at Camp Mabry in Austin so far this month, compared to about 1.5 inches by this point typically in November.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 73 and winds at 5 mph. At night, expect a low of about 43, with little wind.
Tuesday: Sunny once again, with the high inching up to about 74. Winds should be calm but increase slightly to about 5 mph. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with the mercury dropping to about 44 and winds calm.
Wednesday: More sunshine and a high topping out at about 77, with south southeast winds picking up to about 5 mph in the afternoon. It will be mostly clear at night, with a low of around 52 and a light southeast wind of 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Thursday: The high is expected to hit 79, with — you guessed it! — sunny skies and light south winds increasing to up to 10 mph in the morning. At night, look for partly cloudy skies and a low of around 56.
Friday: It will be only partly sunny, with a high approaching 80. The low at night is expected to be 60, with partly cloudy skies once again.
